Have you heard of plagiarism, cheating and fabrication? These are three common types of academic integrity violations, but there are more. Below are a list of common academic integrity violations online students need to be aware of:
Taking photos or screenshots of test or course materials and sharing them online. Capturing course content for the purposes of sharing it with other current or future students.
Copying text from another source (even an online source like a website or discussion forum) without using a citation.
Saving notes or exam answers on your phone to refer to during a quiz or exam. Using your phone to browse for test answers during an exam.
Hiring someone to take your class for you. Sharing your username and password, or letting someone else access your online course using your account to take tests or complete assignments.
Downloading papers, answer sets, or past exam materials from the internet. Submitting work completed by someone else as your own.
Collaborating on independent course work or tests is a form of cheating. This includes texting or chatting online!
Purchasing papers or completed assignments online.
