Laser cutter
Universal Laser Cutter PLS 6.150d

Learn how to access the laser cutter on the ULS 60 laser cutter page.  You will need to complete the training guide before you can sign up for reservation times.

  • Materials: The laser cutter can cut a wide variety of materials. For more details on the materials, check out the materials list provided by Universal Laser Systems.
  • Design software (supplied by us): Illustrator, Photoshop, Fusion 360
  • Tools required (supplied by us):
    • Calipers to measure the thickness of your material
    • Computer to design your work
    • Exacto knife
    • Tape for holding down material
    • Scrap materials to test on
    • ¼” Plywood available for purchase
  • We recommend you bring your own material to ensure you have what you need (no larger than 32” x 18”).

  • The HD-3000 is a heavy duty machine, perfect for a beginner or sewist looking to do a wide range of sewing. An instructional guide is located in the top tray door of the machine, which indicates the feet and stitch settings for a variety of sewing tasks.

Juki serger

  • A serger is different from a sewing machine in that it can make a stretchy and durable seam, which is perfect for clothing. The threads lock around the seam to prevent fraying, and the machine also cuts off the seam allowance as it sews.
