I became a librarian because I love learning and supporting others in their educational journey. I knew that in this career, I’d probably learn something new every day, and I was right! Since 2013, I’ve served mostly academic library communities and cannot imagine a more rewarding experience. Students are at the center of what I do and I learn the most from them. My professional interests include how to make people’s experiences with the library and research process better, gathering and studying evidence (qualitative and quantitative) that helps libraries improve and demonstrate their impact, and finding the best ways to help students learn how to become proficient navigators of the vast information landscape. I like all of these things: Live music, home canning/pickling, craft beer, hiking, 80’s and 90’s pop culture, yoga, kettle bell, roller coasters & theme parks, travel and adventure with my family Things I’d like to learn one day: Sewing, birding, and archery.
