How can I use the library or the website during closure? There are lots of library resources still available online! You can get help from librarians and access ebooks, articles, or other online materials. You can also contact library staff if you have any questions or concerns about your library account, items you have checked out, or fines. Check out a full list of ways PCC Library can help you during the closure. Are laptops or other technology available for checkout? The library cannot loan laptops or other technology at this point. Please submit the PCC Student Technology Needs form and someone will follow up with you. PCC has also created a list of Internet service provider offers. PCC has emergency funding for students which may help. Can I borrow equipment other than laptops during the closure, like calculators or cameras? As of Fall 2020, students are asked to fill out the “PCC Student Laptop & Wi-Fi Needs – Fall 2020” form if they need laptops or wi-fi. PCC cannot support other equipment requests at this time. The form will close on September 29, 2020. Are ebooks still available? Yes! You can search the library’s ebooks and other online content from the search box on the library website. For more information, see Find a Book of Video in the Library. Is there an ebook for my textbook? You can search to see if we have your textbook as an ebook from the “Books, videos, & more” search box on the library home page. We are working on finding ebook versions of textbooks when they are available. Students: please check in with your instructor re: whether your textbook is available as an ebook. Faculty: please check with your publisher rep or your department. Some publisher’s websites are offering open access to texts. Consult the library’s COVID-19 Offers Guide for other publisher offers. I have a laptop checked out. Can I really keep it? Yes! Please keep everything you have checked out until PCC campuses re-open. We will not charge you late fines! I was told my item was due on today’s date. Is this still the due date? We’ve extended due dates so nothing you have checked out will be due until after campuses re-open. How do I view my new due dates? Sign in to your library account to see your due dates. I paid a replacement fee for a lost item, but now I found it and the library is closed. How can I get a refund? Please fill out the Library Account Questions Form and we will get in touch. I’m not a student anymore, but I still have items checked out. Will I have an earlier due date than current students? Your due date will be after PCC campuses and the library re-open. You will not have an earlier due date than continuing students. I will move before PCC reopens, or have moved already, but I have library items in my possession. What should I do? Please contact us directly, we can help based on each individual situation. Can I return my items in the dropbox? Please don’t return anything at this time. With the campuses closed, we can’t get back to empty the drop boxes. I have a Summit, Interlibrary Loan (ILL), etc. request. When will I get it? How will I get it? Requested Summit and ILL items will not be available until the library re-opens. Some items may need to be re-requested. You can still place ILL requests for articles. When your requested article is ready, you will receive an email with instructions on how to access the article. I got billed for an item I returned the week of the closure. Please fill out the Library Account Questions Form and we will get in touch.
