When I was studying music history in graduate school, a professor told me that she thought I would make an excellent librarian. A few years later, when confronted with what was at the time an important career choice, I took that professor's suggestion to heart and went back for a degree in library science. I can honestly say that I've never for one second regretted that decision.
I'm still very active in music-related activities, mostly as a guest lecturer and instructor for the Portland Opera, Chamber Music Northwest, and the Oregon Symphony. My wife and I also love to travel, go to concerts and plays, meet friends for dinner, and keep Netflix in business.
