International Student Leadership

International student leadership at PCC aims to support international students as they develop as leaders, students, and cultural ambassadors. The International Student Life Team offers two different leadership programs to get involved with – International Orientation Mentors (IOM) and International Peer Leaders (IPL), both made up of positions that must be applied for. International students are welcome to apply for other student leader positions in centers and offices throughout the district as well.

International Orientation Mentors

IOMs are student leaders (international and domestic) from across PCC’s four campuses that work with the rest of the International Student Life Team and Office of International Student Services to plan and facilitate Orientation Week each term. They prepare to welcome our new students, facilitate discussions groups, assist with placement testing and registration, and lead student groups through workshops, ice breakers, campus tours, and Portland tours. IOM selection usually takes place each May for the next school year.

Our 2023-2024 IOMs are:

  • Austin Shen (he/him/his) from Taiwan
