Academic Professional Institute (API)

  • Participants of API smilingHeld each year during Spring┬áterm
  • Content is determined in collaboration with the API Planning Committee
  • Funding is provided by the Office of Professional and Organizational Development

Faculty Department Chair Institute (FDCI)

  • Held each Fall on the Wednesday immediately following College In-Service
  • Designed for faculty department chairs, directors, and deans
  • If you are interested in joining the planning committee for the FDC Institute, please contact the POD office

New Faculty Institute (NFI)

  • A three day professional development event held each September for new full-time faculty
  • All new full-time faculty meet to learn about Portland Community College and its teaching and learning philosophy
  • The New Faculty Institute’s content is determined in collaboration with the NFI Planning Committee
  • Funding is provided by the Office of Professional and Organizational Development

Part-Time Faculty In-Service

  • Part-time Faculty In-Services are held at each campus once a year, usually in early Fall
  • In-Services provide an opportunity for part-time faculty to gather, network and attend professional development workshops
  • Each campus is responsible for designing and implementing their Part-time Faculty In-Service
  • Part-time Faculty are granted stipend funds to attend in-services
