“Echo Mountain Complex” was made in September 2020 – a time of isolation, wildfires, and political unrest. As an evacuee of the Echo Mountain Complex fire and an asthmatic, I feared for my home and my breath. Returning home, just prior to the beginning of fall term, this was one my first pieces. In it, I experimented with various media and methods of application on black canvas paper.
