Religious and cultural observances calendar

PCC encourages students, staff, and faculty, to be aware and respectful of the diverse religious and cultural observances of college community members.

The calendar below is not a comprehensive list of religious and cultural observances, but it includes dates of particular significance to traditions represented on campus that occur during the months that the academic year is in session. A description of each observance may be found below the calendar. We would like to invite you to share other widely recognized cultural observances for consideration. Your ideas and input help raise awareness and provide opportunities for cross-cultural learning and connection at PCC. When selecting dates for meetings and events, please consider religious observances.

Religious and cultural observances fall on different dates from year to year because many are calculated based on a lunar calendar. The dates of individual observances may also vary regionally.

* Jewish and Muslim holy days begin at sundown on the first day indicated.
** Religious and cultural observances on which absence from work or school is common.
