The Education Department at PCC provides resources and advising for students wishing to pursue a career path in the field of education. The department assists students in identifying programs and pathways at PCC and/or 4-year colleges to meet their needs. The department hosts events about education-related issues, and information sessions on the teacher licensure process in general and on particular university teacher education programs. The department also offers professional development courses for education professionals living in the surrounding area.

PCC’s Education Department houses multiple pathways to becoming a K-12 educational professional in Oregon. Please contact an advisor for more information on selecting the best pathway for you:

  • Elementary Teacher: Lisa George
    For teaching in grades K-8
  • High School Teacher: Lisa George
    For teaching in grades 9-12
  • Career and Technical Education Teacher: Julie Puris or Zita Podany
    If you’re an industry professional in Manufacturing, Health Care, Construction, or Information Technology OR if you are a licensed teacher seeking an endorsement to teach in any of these fields
