Course Description
This 12-week online course is Section One of the Remote and Industrial Advanced Medic Program. You will expand your paramedic experience and knowledge to be a physician extender medic, providing critical and primary care to patients in remote sites.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Participants who successfully complete this course will be able to:
1. Appreciate their unique roles and responsibilities as a mid-level, physician-extenders.
2. Express assessment and management approaches in treating adult and pediatric patients in a remote setting for advanced acute trauma, atypical resuscitations, extended medical or trauma cases, primary care problems, and medical clinic/medical mission planning and management.
3. Participate meaningfully in the advanced skills education and practice of Section Two of the RIAM Program.
