Course Description
This 8-hour module covers the assessment and differential diagnosis of altered mental status. Cases will practice assessment-based management approaches.
Intended Outcomes for the course
At the end of this Module, participants will be able to: 1) perform a baseline mental status exam and history, 2) recognize a patient with AMS or delirium, 3) diagnose the probable cause of the condition using critical thinking, and 4) develop a nursing care approach to the patient's condition.
