Course Description
Understand how nutrient intake/deficiency injures cells/tissues, and body response for repair. Covers symptoms of lack, excess, impaired metabolism and consequences of American diet. Supplements, herbs, medicinal food products, extracts and fractionated products examined. Focus on digestive, immune & cardiovascular system.
Intended Outcomes for the course
- Analyze client, nutrient related, pathologies and common symptoms relative to their involvement in diet and deficiency conditions
- Develop client recommendations based on the pathology of metabolism and immune system impairments and requirements
- Examine and convey the consequences of client pathologies, and the impact on the client’s health maintenance, acute and chronic conditions, compliance and efficacy
