Prerequisites: A reading score of 43 on the ASSET assessment test (equivalent of reading score entry to WR 121) is required to take literature classes.
Course Description: English 105 enhances enjoyment of plays, increases understanding of the conventions of drama, and encourages explorations of human experience. Students will be asked to read plays closely. Emphasis is placed on the explication of specific elements of drama:; interpretive skills are developed by encouraging students to support opinion with evidence from the text. The focus of the course is on class discussion and careful reading of the material.
Format: Lecture and class and small group discussion.
