Welcome to my home page
My name is Judy Cervetto Hedberg and I have been teaching college level courses for a number of years in the greater Portland area. I am fortunate in that my avocation closely parallels my formal educational degrees: B.A. in Music from Lewis and Clark College, and M.A. in Music from the University of Portland with emphasis on music theory and music literature.
My musical interests and teaching needs have inspired me to pursue a personal interest in collecting thousands of audio recordings to share with my students. My collecting is ongoing and embraces contemporary composers as well as new performances on period instruments.
My husband and I maintain season tickets with the Oregon Symphony so that I gain insight in the ever changing world of music performance.
Many years of teaching experience giving private lessons in accordion and piano to students from the age of five to senior citizen, and professional performances as a classical accordionist, and as harpsichordist with the PCC orchestra provide enjoyment and help me temper academia with a more real-world classroom/internet execution.
