Portland Community College, Department of Public Safety Overview
The department of public safety operates as a centralized entity under one director and one lieutenant who oversee four sergeants, thirty officers assigned throughout the district.
Patrolling college facilities seven days a week is just one aspect of the duties performed by the department of public safety. Officers are additionally charged with the responsibility of providing timely and courteous response in the areas of personal safety, security, emergency services, crime prevention, and investigation. The officers are also trained in advanced first aid, and they are capable of handling emergency medical situations.
