The most effective way to become a good reader is to read a lot.

Good reading, in addition,  requires several skills: enough vocabulary, enough understanding of grammar and organization, the willingness to think about what we have read.

If you want to check your level of vocabulary skill, go to
http://www.er.uqam.ca/nobel/r21270/levels/  This is a link to a web site from the University of Montreal. Look around, and take some of the quizzes. You can learn how much English you really understand

Come back to this site again, and I'll have some more ideas for reading improvement.

If you have questions about reading or  ideas for how to improve reading skills, email me at ballen@pcc.edu.
