Here is Lab Number One:

1.Open your favorite browser, Netscape,       Internet Explorer, or other browser.
In the  address or
location area at top of the screen type in:                           

          http://www.hotmail.com/

               then hit return key....

2. click "Sign Up"

      Sign Up for an email account!

3. Follow instructions and  fill-in required information...
(write down sign-in 
  name & password!
)

      Your password must be
      at least six characters long
      and contain no spaces.

4.  Don't sign up for
      "special offers"

    This will help avoid junk mail.

5.  When name is
     selected, scroll to
     bottom of page &
     and click where
      it says:: 

"Click hereto sign up
for a 2 MB accoun
t"

6.  Scroll to bottom of 
     Web Courier
     page, then click:

"Continue"

7.  Scroll to bottom
     again & click:

"Continue to e-mail

8.  When you see
      MSN hotmail,
      click:

"Sign Out"  at top right....

9.   Sign into hotmail
       account:

  www.hotmail.com/

10. Create an
      addressbook....

 Click on Address Book

11.  Quickname box:

 myteacher

12.  In First Name box,
        type in your
       section #
      

   12.5  In Last name box type in Flanagan

13  In e-mail adress
      box,  (personal)
      type in 
      tflanaga@pcc.edu

 Click Ok, repeat steps 10-13 and put
  in second e-mail address of your
  choice. Print out copy of 
                Addressbook
 

14.  To Compose
       Click Compose

 Insert an address by clicking on To (in blue next to first line)  click in box next to myteacher and click OK.

15.  Include in subject
       line: last name,
       first name, &
      Section number
*

Check the copy message to sent folder.
There will be a check mark.

 

16. Message must
      include
      answers to Two
      questions. 
      Include questions
      restated in
      message.

      Answer with
     complete
      sentences and
     college-level
     writing and syntax.

Question Choices:
  • 1.  If you were to meet with anyone living or dead for one hour, who would it be and why?

  • 2.  If you were able to change on law in our governmental process, what would it be and what would be the effect of the change?

  • 3.  If you were given two wishes, what would they be for and why choose them?

  • 4.  If you were any cartoon character, who would it be and why?

  • 5.  If we had a recorded law and some people abide by the law while others do not...should the law be removed or better enforced? 

17.  Print out a copy of
       message,  then
       send by clicking
           
Send

       sign out of hotmail...  Click signout
       button at upper right of page.
       When MSN page comes up, to
       exit, select (File-close)

18.  Turn in two
        printouts.
       Due  March 
      (In  two-pocket
        folder, clearly
        labeled with
        name and section
        number at top
        right.)

       Message must be received by
       instructor for full credit.

  Homework One due
March  
 
Presentation Topic Selections
also due September 25 or 26
 Homework Two due
March
