As you already know, I am an instructor for Portland Community College Fire Protection Technology Program. I have been instructing the Fire Investigation curriculum since 2004. What you may not know is that I'm also currently employed by Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue where I serve as a Deputy Fire Marshal / Fire Investigator and as the Evidence Officer for the Fire Investigation Unit.
Further, in my 37 year fire service career, I have proudly worked for a number of fire service organizations. I have served in a variety of professional positions including firefighter/paramedic, Hazardous Materials Specialist, Fire Prevention Specialist, Medical Officer, Captain and Deputy Fire Chief/Fire Marshal.
I am also a member of the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI) and currently serve a the Chairman for the Portland District and President of IAAI Oregon Chapter 31. I hold Certified Fire Investigator (CFI) with the IAAI. I'm the past Training Coordinator of the Metro Fire Investigation Task Force.
I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Fire Services Administration from Eastern Oregon University. An Associates degree from Edmonds Community College in Fire Command Administration and a Associates degree From Edmonds Community College in Fire Investigation.
