Course Description: Stresses the proper techniques of weight lifting and development of muscular strength and endurance. Individual programs developed which allow for individual body and strength differences.
Course Objectives:
1. To develop and improve muscular strength, muscular endurance and flexibility.
2. Learn basic anatomy relating to exercises performed.
3. Practice safe and proper lifting form.
4. Create and carry out personal exercise program.
5. Set and work toward personalized goals.
Evaluation:
1. Attendance and Participation - 5 points per day (160 poss.)
2. Personal Program Record - 10 points
3. Anatomy quiz - 10 points (Oct. 3)
4. Final quiz - 10 points (Dec. 7)
Please note: You are allowed only three make-ups. A make-up consists of a 50 minute workout in another PE class (not including CCWT). You must have a signed make-up card.
Expectations:
1. You must participate in class to get credit for attendance.
2. You must be dressed appropriately to participate (see attire below). If you are not dressed appropriately, you will be asked to leave class, forgoing credit.
3. Being tardy or leaving early will affect your attendance pointes.
4. A positive attitude is always appreciated.
Attire:
Clean t-shirt, athletic shorts or pants (no buttons, zippers or pocket rivets), socks and athletic shoes (no backless shoes, sandals or street shoes). Workout towel is required for class.
