Welcome to our Quilting Class Website!

Spring term we are presenting two courses!

  1. The first class in the term–Stringing Beads–will be presented for those quilters who have some piecing in their skill-box. All levels are welcome yet the pattern will be created for confident beginners and up.  This means you are helped during the class, but you will have less hands-on instruction.
  2. The second class in the term–In The Beginning–has the focus on beginners. While every level is welcome, there is more hands-on instruction and “over the shoulder” work and demonstration.

Quilting: Stringing Beads beadsThis delightful quilt looks as if you have made strings of beads! The pattern is lovely and makes a beautiful lap-to-twin sized quilt. The blocks are on-point so that the quilt looks like the strings of beads are flowing downward. Donna Jordan has a video tutorial that will be useful to watch.

Quilting: In the Beginning framedWe will be making a fun and lovely quilt in our beginning class called Framed Squares (I am sending you to the site where you order your own pattern in .PDF format. I have found it to be a safe download).  It can be made with three colors or a multitude of colors. It can be made for a child with bright novelty fabrics or plush dreamy colored fabrics. It can be made with old scraps or with batiks. It’s the type of pattern that can be your own artwork.

This class will take you through the whole quilting process from how to read a pattern, how to cut your fabric, to piecing all the way through to how to finish your quilt. There will be hands-on teaching and demonstrating.
