- What We Do
Manifest, a non-profit men’s wellness community, empowers Portland-area men to achieve their wellness visions together in more than 80 affordable, fun groups & classes monthly like yoga, hiking biking, cooking, gardening, herbalism & nutrition, Qi Gong, etc. We do this to help men prevent & address 5 chronic illnesses that kill men 5 years before women (heart disease, cancer, diabetes, HIV, & depression/anxiety).

Outreach Team Leader
Key responsibilities: Manage the team responsible for increasing participation in all Manifest programs by 50% through 1) Social Media, 2) PR/Media Relations, 3) Flyer Distribution, 4) In-Person Networking at allied men’s and LGBTQ organizations meetings, 5) Special Event booths/tabling (Pride, Gay and Grey, Earth Day, Wellness Expos), 6) Networking and In-Service Training with Wellness Professionals, 7) Working with Manifest program facilitators and current participants to foster word-of-mouth outreach, 8) Targeted emails to past participants to encourage word off mouth outreach and 9) Maintain Manifest web calendar.Desired Experience: Prior experience with personnel and/or team management; demonstrated expertise with social media; the ability to establish external networks. Ability to train team members on objectives and monitor progress toward attainment of same. Ability to establish a 2-minute “elevator”” summary of the mission of Manifest and its value to the Portland community.
Public Relations Coordinator
Key responsibilities: Compile a list of wellness publications, writers and editors (press list); create press releases (profiles of Manifest program facilitators, participants and programs); write feature articles on how men are preventing and addressing chronic illness through community study and practice; cultivate relationships with reports and editors who cover wellness in the Portland are and who cover the queer community in the Portland area; regularly pitch stories that are timely and related to each publication’s and writer/editor’s goals and focus.Desired Experience: Demonstrated effective writing and communication skills, along with the ability to succinctly present the mission of Manifest and its value to the Portland community.
Development Coordinator
Key responsibilities: Three key areas of development are grant writing, corporate fund-raising and major donor sourcing. Grant writing includes researching and identifying foundations and other entities, which have as their mission the support of men’s wellness and drafting grant proposals for funding. For corporate fund-raising, identifying those companies whose business focus has a natural affinity with and commitment to men’s wellness, such as health care organizations and sports-oriented corporations. For major donors: identifying and cultivating relationships with individuals in order to demonstrate that contributions to Manifest are synergistic with the donor’s philanthropic goals.Desired Experience: Demonstrated ability with grant writing, corporate fund-raising and/or experience working with major donors.
