- What We Do
The Council for the Homeless coordinates a community-wide response to homelessness through education, advocacy, outreach, and by managing the emergency shelter access system. Please join us in our mission to end homelessness in Clark County.
- Opportunities for service with us
-
The Emergency Shelter Clearinghouse serves as a hotline and lifeline for men, women, and children experiencing homelessness in Clark County. After receiving training volunteers answer calls and make referrals to available shelter spaces and other community resources.
We are currently seeking additional volunteers to help cover the Clearinghouse in the office. We also have a few shifts open for volunteers who would like to cover the Clearinghouse. We are looking for individuals who can commit for a minimum of 3 months. We have 4 hour shifts that vary throughout the day. Must be 18 years old to volunteer.
Are you interested in serving our neighbors without adequate shelter, learning more about service networks in Clark County, and in need of an opportunity that fits your busy schedule? Contact Kevin Hiebert, by emailing the provided address to get started!
