- What We Do
The Children's Book Bank fills children's lives and homes with books, giving children the chance to develop the literacy skills they need to become readers and learners. The Children's Book Bank works to close the book gap that exists for children in poverty by providing, free of charge, collections of books to kids in need.
- Opportunities for service with us
-
We seek volunteers of all skill levels. We are always looking for volunteers to clean and repair books which have been donated so that we may provide books in good condition to the children we serve.
We also need volunteers to sort and assemble the collections of books we provide to children. This requires a special training and previous experience cleaning books at the book bank.
For those interested in making a stronger commitment, we also seek interns interested in leading volunteer sessions, working with social media, fundraising, and other areas. Internships require an 8-10 hr/wk commitment for a minimum of six months, preferably the length of the academic year.
