What We Do

There are 58 SUN Schools in Multnomah County and James John is one of them. SUN Schools are here to:

· Provide academic and enrichment programs afterschool and during some school breaks

· Facilitate parent and community involvement in the school

· Help link families with health and social services

Opportunities for service with us

1)       Do you play basketball, love to draw, dance ballet, get excited about science, or have another unique interest you’d be willing to share with a group of kids?  Teaching a SUN class is a great way to connect with students, enrich their lives, and gain experience teaching and working in a diverse school setting.  The commitment is just one hour/week for eight weeks.

2)       Volunteer to serve food and help in a class during SUN school.

3)       Volunteer to help students with reading and homework during homework time (4:15-5PM).

4)  Volunteer with one of our brand new Soccer Programs (Soccer for Success or America Scores).
