What We Do

The mission of Metropolitan Family Service is to strengthen families and individuals while enhancing their participation in community life. We serve children, families and older adults in the tri-county area. MFS is dedicated to building stronger communities by providing services, connecting people with resources, and offering volunteer opportunities.

Opportunities for service with us

There are many ways to volunteer with Metropolitan Family Service!  Metropolitan Family Service volunteers work with children in schools and after school programs.  Older adults in north, northeast and southeast portland benefit from volunteers who provide services like community visiting, transportation, shopping assistance, and minor home repair.  We also stage large annual fundraising events with help from many dedicated volunteers.
