What We Do

We are a Veterans organization first, we have programs on Veterans Affairs and Rehabilation, Americanism, Community Service, Education & Scholarships, Children & Youth, National Security, Poppies and our Girls State program.  We have officers and chairman who run the programs and I here in the state office coordinate all the paperwork between them and our 90 Units across the state.

Opportunities for service with us

We had a AmeriCorp Vista volunteer last year who worked in the community and with the Veterans, creating new programs and upgrading some.  She also set up our web site, twitter and facebook.  Some of her new programs that worked very well was a Art Festival for Mental Health for children, especially with family members in Irag. A MOMs program for Military Moms. Adopt a Bridgade, which provided families with members overseas with dinners for Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Collected over $3,000 in school supplies for distribution in the Portland area.
