What We Do

The International School, an authorized International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme school, provides a multicultural environment where children are fully immersed in Spanish, Japanese or Chinese language and culture from age 3 through 5th grade. Children become fluent in another language, at home in other cultures, and engaged in math, science, social studies and arts.

Opportunities for service with us

An independent elementary school in downtown Portland is seeking a summer intern to assist the librarian with cataloging, processing and data entry.  A library media student is preferred.  This work requires a detail-oriented person with excellent typing and computer skills. A working knowledge of Spanish, Japanese or Mandarin is desirable.  You will receive training in copy cataloging, original cataloging in English and three world languages, as well as experience with The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme.  The hours are flexible and a small stipend will be paid for over 100 hours worked.  Please send a cover letter expressing your interest in this work experience and a current resume to library@intlschool.org.
