"At Blue Monkey Theater Company we believe that teens deserve diverse, empowering theater experiences, just like older audiences do.  That means producing plays that are not only entertaining, but also challenging—and staging them in a smaller environment where everyone can enjoy an immersive, up-close experience.  It also means actively engaging underserved audiences, so that the magic of great theater is accessible to the entire community.

Our Mission:  Blue Monkey Theater Company is about taking artistic risks, coloring outside the lines and empowering the unique, fresh, fearless voice of the young artist.  We are committed to expanding the vision of what theater for young people is and can be by creating theater experiences that are challenging, honest and unforgettable."

Volunteers (listed from “most urgent” to “very important”)

•     A volunteer manager to recruit, organize and schedule volunteers

•     Fundraisers (of whatever size…from taking on a whole project, such as hosting a dinner at your house, to helping sell tickets to events or gathering yard sale items)

•     An attorney to serve on our board

•     A corporate support coordinator to contact businesses for donations

•     Help with poster/postcard distribution (from developing a list of sites and organizing distribution, to distributing posters and postcards in your neighborhood)

•     Ushers, concession sellers, and house staff during productions

•     Set builders and costume stitchers (skilled and unskilled)

•     Truck drivers (with truck)

•     A school outreach coordinator to establish relationships with programs that serve teens, to recruit new interns, audiences and volunteers, and to set up free ticket opportunities

•     Office help (record organizing, copying, computer repair, etc.)
