WR 122 -- Bustamante (PK)

Assignment description and sample topics: On Monday, students will receive essay guidelines on an upcoming definition argument that will be assigned. I have attached the guidelines. The next essay assignment will be a proposal argument on a topic of their choice. They will be required to follow MLA guidelines, as well as Toulmin logic (including counterargument and rebuttal) for both assignments. So, it would help if they were introduced to databases through which they can search opposing arguments.

What are your learning outcomes for this session? I have several students who are returning to college after 15 or more years. They have never used MLA citations, nor are they familiar with the PCC library databases. I'm hoping for a simple session during which they can familiarize themselves with the PCC library database system. I'm also hoping that this will prove to be a useful refresher for students who have some experience with the system.

(Assignment is attached to the request)

Assignment description and sample topics: On Monday, students will receive

have attached the guidelines. The next essay assignment will be a proposal
argument on a topic of their choice. They will be required to follow MLA
guidelines, as well as Toulmin logic (including counterargument and rebuttal)
for both assignments. So, it would help if they were introduced to databases
through which they can search opposing arguments.

What are your learning outcomes for this session? I have several students who
are returning to college after 15 or more years. They have never used MLA
citations, nor are they familiar with the PCC library databases. I'm hoping
for a simple session during which they can familiarize themselves with the
PCC library database system. I'm also hoping that this will prove to be a
useful refresher for students who have some experience with the system.
