Assignment description and sample topics: Students will select a book of
their choice to read outside of class. I'd like to students to get a sense
of the range of reading materials and options and give them some time to
select a book. I have students ranging in reading level from 5th grade to
pre-college. Many students rarely or never read books on their own. Other
students read regularly.

Other notes: Understand the variety of reading materials available to them,
how to check out materials, and when to return or renew. I'd also like them
