Assignment description and sample topics: formation. The goal of the project is to get them to see research as I'm putting together an
inquiry-based research project in which I'm going to encourage students to read sources critically and continue to revise their research question as they encounter new ina process that drives thinking rather than a "hunt" for
information or evidence. I'll be asking them to write what I call a
"critical research narrative," which is more or less a reflection on the process. They will spend 5 weeks on the project. Their areas of research will be informed by the Youtube video, "The Story of Stuff." I want students to pick one part of that video (e.g., industrial pollution or labor rights) as a starting point for research. I'll be happy to provide prompts once I get them together!
