Every term I assign a research project, either a paper or presentation. The topic is up to the student, but must relate to one of the 7 World Religions we study--Hinduism, Buddhism,
Taoism, Confucianism, Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Is strictly based on what interests them that they want to learn more about. The reason for this research session is so they can see what kinds of religious resources there are out there to use for research a topic for a 5 page research paper or 15 minute presentation. I will attach my draft syllabus, which is pretty much done. In the assignment section is the research paper/presentation.
Upload class assignment and other relevant documents:
Syllabus--World Religions.doc:

What are your learning outcomes for this session? Locate online and physical resources to assist in finding resources by specialists in the topic chosen. The research session could also help them actually find a topic.
Other notes: I can email the reference librarian chosen the handouts I will give the student about research paper/presentation guidelines and a list of possible topics (when I have them complete).
