Yes If yes please specify: A few minutes at the beginning and end to give them some reminders Assignment description and sample topics: The final essay is a 5-6 page essay with three outside (of class readings) sources. It isn't a research paper, as the ideas must be based in their experiences and not based on outside information, but they need to find other authored sources talking about the ideas to add dimension and support to their thesis.
The essay must include an idea from one of the class readings, which include a variety of thinkers: Germaine Greer, Nietzsche, Emerson, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Machiavelli, Lao-Tzu, and Plato. Students will be able to (check all that apply): - Develop a search strategy based on their research topics (15 minutes) - Differentiate between scholarly journals and magazines (15 minutes) - Construct a query for journal, magazine, or newspaper articles and evaluate best choices in the results list (25 minutes) Other notes: Whatever seems most useful in helping students in your experience is great.
