Assignment description and sample topics: Students will need instruction on
searching: print and electronic sources and catalogs and databases. This is
in conjunction with an upcoming assignment.
Students will be able to (check all that apply):
- Perform an efficient search of the library catalog for books and other
materials (15 minutes)
- Differentiate between scholarly journals and magazines (15 minutes)
- Construct a query for journal, magazine, or newspaper articles and
evaluate best choices in the results list (25 minutes)
Other notes: If possible, I would like to do the class in the library if you
can accommodate us.
