Do you need time to discuss non-library matters with your class on the day of
library instruction? No
If yes please specify:
Assignment description and sample topics: Peer reviewed articles, anatomy of
a scholarly article, PsychARTICLES, locate source(s) for APA format AND
writing style (don't need to review, this is homework). Would be nice to
have library course homepage like last term. Students tell me this is very
helpful. Ex: alcohol use and cognition. Author search: Mona Johnson and
Tamara Wall.
Students will be able to (check all that apply):
- Perform an efficient search of the library catalog for books and other
materials (15 minutes)
- Differentiate between scholarly journals and magazines (15 minutes)
- Construct a query for journal, magazine, or newspaper articles and
evaluate best choices in the results list (25 minutes)
