"Living Voices" Choir and Chamber Music at Rock Creek

Event Description:Portland Community College Rock Creek Choirs and Chamber Ensemble will present a program of choral and instrumental music featuring musical styles from across the globe. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and students. Admission is free for children under 10. Tickets are available at the door (cash or check only).
The Rock Creek Choirs, under the direction of Pollyanna Hancock-Moody, will present selections including "Five Hebrew Love Songs" by Eric Whitacre, music by Portland’s own Joan Szymko, Irish pop sensation Celtic Women, “Over the Rainbow” as recorded by Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwoʻole's, an arrangement of the Beatle’s “Blackbird” and more.
The Chamber Ensemble, directed by Jason Palmer, will perform more contemporary music, including jazz/rock guitarist John Scofield’s “Peculiar, and “Doxy” by Jazz legend Sonny Rollins, as well as classical pieces including a movement from a Mass by the Renaissance composer Palestrina and chorale settings by J.S. Bach. Students will perform original music and solo performances by students will be featured.

Event Location:Forum Theater, Room 114 in Building 3 at the Rock Creek Campus at 17705 NW Springville Road, Portland. Parking is free in the event center parking area.
