Assignment description and sample topics: Students will be writing a
persuasive essay that involves research and at least 8 resources (including
three peer-reviewed) cited in correct MLA format. The assignment will be two
weeks in duration and due the last meeting of the term.

1) Students have opportunity to explore the rich variety of resources through
the library;
2) Students have an understanding and see samples of peer-reviewed articles;
3) Students begin to see ways to narrow their topics;

Other notes: I'll drop off the complete assignment shortly after we determine
a date for a library session. I'll also give you a list of suggested topics
and those that students have chosen with which to work.
