f we spend only 50 minutes in the library, we'll spend the other 50 minutes on non-library matters. Assignment description and sample topics: The students will have done a shorter research project and had some exposure to the research sequence. The longer research project will require more sources (5 to 10), and will be an essay supported by the research. The subject is wealth inequality. I'll try to upload an MS Word page with links to the readings. As the time approaches, I'll have an assignment handout to send. The idea is for the students to find an issue in any of the dozen course readings on wealth inequality and pursue it and until they have their own opinions to base an essay on. What they most need help on is finding pertinent sources in our databases and evaluating them once found. They will have just begun the assignment, so they won't have very specific research topics.
