Title:
Using Classroom Time Wisely: Content Selection, Impactful Delivery, Memorable Lessons
Presenter: Lisa Aasheim, PhD (Counselor Education)
Objectives
Upon completion of this workshop, participants will:
1. Understand how to select the most critical content for in-class delivery, 2. Know three strategies for content delivery that will address all learning styles; and 3. Understand at least 5 components of memorable, effective andragogy.
Evaluation Attendees will complete a brief pre- and post-assessment that allows them to measure their learning during the workshop. (This assessment is also used as a demonstration tool to teach additional teaching techniques)

This three hour workshop will help attendees use classroom time wisely by understanding how to select critical course content, how to deliver lessons that will leave the most memorable impact on learners, and how to help learners become active participants in the learning process. Attendees will participate in several demonstrations of techniques that are useful when working with adult learners of all ages, and attendees will leave the workshop with lessons that they will put to use when designing their future courses and lessons therein.
