Instructor name: John Wright Students refer to me as: John Instructor e-mail: john.wright3@pcc.edu Instructor phone: 9712717219 Instructor location: Rock Creek Preferred contact: e-mail Course subject: Reading - RD Course number: 115 Course CRN: 13985 Number of Students: 25 ADA provisions needed: no Preferred Date: 2012-03-07 Preferred Time: 8:00 am Alternate Date: 2012-03-14 Alternate Time: 8:00 am Duration: 90Minutes Do you need time to discuss non-library matters with your class on the day of library instruction? No If yes please specify: Assignment description and sample topics: I have two sections of RD 115 that meet on Thursday and Friday--one section at 8-9:50 and another from 11-12:50. I would like to assign a simple research project where students become an "expert" about a particular question they have. I would like an introduction to library resources, some feedback about how to phrase a question for research, and I would really like some formal instruction around smarter ways to use the web. I realize this is short notice, but the need is greater than I anticipated. Any Tuesday or Thursday in Weeks 5 or 6 that could accommodate both sections will work for me. Upload class assignment and other relevant documents: What are your learning outcomes for this session? Smarter, better web searches. An introduction to finding materials relevant to a broad research question both online and in the library itself. Other notes: The morning class has 20-25 students in attendance each day, and the 11 o'clock class has around 25. They will be conducting research for a project due Week 9.

Thanks as always! Upload class assignment and other relevant documents: What are your learning outcomes for this session? Leave with working knowledge of library databases, to search for references on themed assignment. The assignment, attached, is half about travel and half about a hobby, so references should deal with both aspects to create a full paper.

Hi Debbi, I'm trying to establish a year long training schedule for Accessibility Trainings that I can hand out at In-service. Is there any chance I could reserve RC Lib 213 on:
Tuesday, November 20 from 9:30 to noon Wednesday, Feb 13th from 1 to 3:30pm Tuesday, May 21 from 9:30 to noon
I am trying to do these trainings at each campus once per term. Thanks! If you can let me know today, that would be awesome, so I can get this schedule printed up. Best, Karen
