Build a School in Oaxaca, Mexico
October 12-20, 2013. Join PCC and Oregon based Friends of Pimpollo in service work to build a school in the dump community of Vicente Guerrero, on the outskirts of Oaxaca City. Oaxaca is located in Southern Mexico, in a region defined safe by the US State Department. Participants work alongside parents, teachers, and community members to build one or two additional classrooms onto an impoverished and overcrowded rural school. Your work will promote education and quality of life, and you will become part of a community, a true cultural experience! Spanish is not necessary, just a strong back and spirit of service and adventure. You can extend your stay to celebrate The Day of the Dead!

Chile and Argentina: The Andes to Patagonia
January 2 - 19, 2014. Experience what it means to live in the city of "fair winds," including an initiation into the world of tango; and Bariloche, where locals are experts at making beers and chocolate. Enjoy a discussion with a member of the Mapuche, an indigenous people native to the area. Cross the Chilean border to Puerto Varas with striking views of the Osorno Volcano. Visit the island of Chiloe, and the wildlife sanctuary home to the Humboldt and Magellanic penguin. Fly to Punta Arenas, overlooking the Strait of Magellan and travel to Torres del Paine, widely considered to be South America's finest national park. Cross the Andes once again to Calafate, the gateway to Parque Nacional Los Glaciares, the largest continental ice extension after Antarctica.

Explore Croatia and the Islands of the Adriatic Sea
August 23 - September 3, 2014. Travel to ancient Roman Pula to discover its impressive Roman past and architecture including one of Rome's largest amphitheaters. Visit Rovinj and Porec, two beautiful towns with spiral alleys and Venetian palaces. Explore the world's smallest town of Hum in the heart of Istria and Opatija known as "Croatia's Riviera," once the summer retreat for Roman Ceasars and the Hapsburg Monarch. Enjoy breathtaking views of Plitvice Lake, a stunning example of a UNESCO World Heritage site and enjoy the beautiful islands of Brijuni, Kornati, and Rab, known as the island of Love!

Exploring the Himalayas in Nepal
April 7-20, 2014. Experience the spectacular mountain country of Nepal. You will view the daily lives of the Nepalese people by visiting ancient city-states, remote villages, Hindu temples, and Buddhist monasteries, all among the spectacular scenery of the world's highest mountains. In the jungle you will experience the grandeur of a safari while riding on the back of an elephant in search of the Royal Bengal Tiger and other exotic wildlife. You will pay homage to Mt. Everest by taking a private chartered flight around it. We will spend a few days walking among the quiet villages of the famous Annapurna region, staying in local tea-houses for in-depth interactions. The Himalayas are a place to let yourself go and the mountains and people alike welcome you with looming curiosity.

Paleontology Weekend
If you have wondered what it would be like to be a field paleontologist, now is your chance to try it for a weekend! A partial day in the classroom, getting familiar with a little of Oregon's prehistory will be followed by two days excavating a real site. The remains of now extinct animals, like mammoths and giant bison are awaiting excavation near Woodburn. Bring lunch and snacks each day, show up at 9 AM, and we'll provide the tools and expertise. The most current methods will be taught. Your adventure will be led by professional archaeologist, Dr. Alison Stenger. Must be 18 years or older to participate. Tuscan Food and Wine Adventure
October 12 - 20, 2013. Experience la dolce vita in beautiful Tuscany. Explore Tuscany and all they offer the food and wine world. Participate in hands on cooking classes that will show you how to make delicious Tuscan dishes, travel to local wineries for tastings, sample the delicious offerings of local producers of fine Tuscan foods such as olive oil and cheeses, and of course no trip is complete without an outing to the local markets of note.
