Explores the boundaries of digital photography to begin to include a more personal practice while placing work within a historical, social and cultural context. Introduces critical skills necessary to expand perceptual and visual cultural awareness by using a broad range of intermediate digital processes and concepts. Introduces the ideas related to the development of a professional photographic practice. Requires access to a camera with manual exposure controls, DSLR (digital single-lens-reflex) cameras are preferred. This is the first course in a three-course sequence for second year digital photography. Prerequisite: Three terms of ART 140 or ART 140C or instructor permission.
