From the Instructor:

This course covers all aspects of creating a home-based office for a virtual assistant buisness. (A Virtual Assistant or VA is an administrative professional who uses technology to remotely support clients.) Students will create a business plan and marketing plan, analyze office needs for furniture and equipment, establish a fee, identify software requirements, and plan a company website. Recommended: CAS 246

Most weeks students will turn in portions of their business plan for evaluation and feedback, and then submit the final business plan during Week Nine. Each section of this professionlly written business plan is created as if the final plan were to be submitted to a loan officer at a bank.

Students need to be proficient in both Microsoft Word and Excel (for the financial statements) to be successful in this class. Work experience in an office administrative function for two years is very helpful.
