Introduces the concepts and techniques of modern symbolic logic for deductive inference. Develops basic propositional and predicate logic skills including: translating ordinary language into symbolic statements, using truth tables for various logical tests, applying inference rules and strategies in argument proofs, and evaluating the validity of complex deductive arguments. Requires: Basic computer skills (including the ability to use MyPCC and D2L, and perform online searches). Recommended: MTH 65 or MTH 95. Prerequisites: WR 115, RD 115 and MTH 20 or equivalent placement test scores. Audit available.  (For detailed information, see the Course Content and Outcome Guide ).
