The quintessential Indian street food is Chaat-a generic name for a tangy and spicy mix. Chaats are cold finger foods or light salads that are freshly prepared eaten outdoors and on the go. We'll focus on the following three: Bhel Poori: diced potatoes and chickpeas in a spice-infused yogurt sauce, garnished with crunchy chickpea flour noodles and topped with swirls of spicy cilantro and tamarind chutneys. Aloo Tikki: crispy patties with a spicy filling. Phal Chaat: an exotic fruit salad, sprinkled with chaat masala.
