EM210 Planning for Haz & Disasters
Course will examine the concepts of writing an emergency operating plan and the elements necessary for inclusion in the plan (all-risk hazards planning). Students will begin with the process for identifying local hazards and resources, vulnerability and impact analysis, and public policy considerations. Using groups they will analyze their hazard assessments and write a basic plan. The groups will present their plans to the whole for critique. Actual emergency operating plans will be used to illustrate the planning requirements and results. Prerequisites: EM 110 and EM 114 and WR 121. Audit available.
