Examines fundamentals of machine design, including analysis and design of mechanical components. Covers shafts, fasteners, belt and chain drives, brakes, gears, springs and bearings. Includes predicting static and fatigue failures for various loadings and materials. Prerequisite: CMET 121, 226.
