Hands-on sight translation practice for experienced, working healthcare interpreters, in preparation for national certification and overall skill improvement. Requires strong reading and writing skills in English and non-English language, an understanding of the NCIHC's Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice, comfort downloading programs and exporting files on the computer. All languages welcome. Identify healthcare documents that are appropriate for sight translation; practice sight translation of healthcare documents from English into the non-English language with accuracy using an even speaking pace; utilize techniques learned in class to prepare for national healthcare interpreter certification or to maintain or further one's sight translation skills.
