Introduction to Music is a beginning course in music and was initially a prerequisite for Mus 111 Music Theory. The only difference between Mus 110 and Mus 101 is keyboard and sight singing practice that can not be done online. This class will emphasize reading notes in treble and bass clef, rhythm in simple and compound meter, construction of major and minor scales, practice in recognizing intervals, composing diatonic melodies, triad construction, building seventh chords, and finally some discussion and midi listening examples demonstrating chord function and voice leading.
